What does my horse wear?

Dressage

  • English saddle
  • Conservative colored saddle pad (white, cream, navy, black)
  • Girth
  • Bridle with snaffle bit
    • Cavesson, dropped, crossed or flash nosebands permitted
  • Breastplate if needed (not required)
  • Fly bonnets are allowed, but are subject to inspection following your test
  • Not allowed: martingales, bit guards, any kind of gadgets (bearing, side, running or balancing reins), reins with any loops or attachments, any kind of boots or leg bandages and any form of blinkers.  

Cross-Country

  • English saddle
  • Saddle pad of any color or pattern
  • Girth
  • Bridle (cavesson, dropped, crossed or flash nosebands permitted)
  • Any kind of bit
  • Breastplate (not required), if needed
  • Unrestricted running martingale with rein stops or Irish martingale (not required), if needed
  • Protective boots (not required, but encouraged)
  • Studs (not required)

Show Jumping  

  • English saddle
